Unclassified, or perhaps volcanic music : swinging between the atmosphere of a sunny day in Alaska and the plate tectonics motion, I use, play, distort my instruments(electric guitar, modular synthesizer, drum machine, laptop, amplifiers). This solo work, flirting with electronic music, post rock, experimental, ambient,movie soundtrack, was built along my gigs and other live performances (noise rock bands, cine-concerts, improvisations, dancing music ( Sinequanon Art, Fritz the Cat, Fahr, bAse… ). Naturally, I always conceive a sound as a luminous declination. Whether in its spectrum, its height of note, the harmony .. everything is comparable to the light. Then this light comes to life through movement, a simple alteration; just as the sound to become music will offer a rhythm, its own movement. Using my instruments, my machines and my computer, I like to develop what I call « living organisms », sound « ecosystems », melodic cycles made of surprises, sets that are never repeated, who live on their own, … in the setting that has been fashioned for them. This makes it possible to generate non-redundant events, and to change the conception of temporality in a musical piece. This music knows no borders (absence of texts, current excitement due to digital sharing, and the emergence of a international scene (Ben Frost, James Holden, Björk, …). And the events that celebrate these new music electronics are multiplying (Atonal in Berlin, Guess Who in Utrecht, Teriaki at Le Mans …)

Composer and multi instrumentalist with a great musical eclecticism, he both draws its inspiration from alternative and experimental cultures than in the post rock, pop culture or electronic music, noise, silence. He’s electric guitarist, he likes synthesizers and analog effects, and explores all openings of digital air (MAX/MSP, granular synthesis, Live programming, production). He is formed at IRCAM. Damien Skoracki plays in the electric trio bAse ( Mathieu Guérinaud et Luis Francesco Arena ), formed the electronic improvisations collective FAHR ( Benoit Weeger, Thomas Baudrillier, et Fabrice Barré ), and developed since 2009 in FRITZ THE CAT a ‘modern’ approach of the movie-concert ( at La Station Service with Olivier Mellano, Michel Cloup, Zëro… ). He write and performs for the Sinequanonart Cie. Collaborations with dance collectives (Groupenfonction, « Here We Go » by Rodolphe Gentilhomme), Theatre (company Raisonances, ZoProd…), or with the Geneva ‘Cirqule’ circus allow him to create original soundtracks to satisfy its cravings for a peculiar music. From 2012, Damien brings together all of his research in his solo project « SKORACKI ».
